Richard W. Loeffler, 81, of Lansdale, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017. He was the devoted husband of Ann (Witmer) Loeffler, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage.

Born in Lansdale, he was the only son of William F. & Charlotte (Wenhold) Loeffler.

Richard began his employment with the former William M. Wilson Gasboy in 1953 and retired in 2000. He enjoyed country music, dancing, and listening to Chuck Berry, and vacationin­g in Surfside Beach, SC with family and friends.

Richard was an avid golfer, and could be found at Butter Valley with his groups teeing off at 5:30 AM Sunday mornings, and only being hindered by snow, sleet, or ice. He then started to bowl, and enjoyed playing with his family and in men’s and mixed leagues for many years.

He was fondly compared to Archie Bunker by his family, and will be remembered as someone who always had a good time, and was able to get along with everyone.

In addition to his wife Ann, Richard is survived by his daughter, Barbara Kleckner (Charles), of Lansdale; his granddaugh­ter, Erica Kleckner, MBA, of Philadelph­ia; his uncle, Bill Holian; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his favorite canine companion, Lucy.

Relatives and friends will be received on Wednesday, April 19 after 9:00 AM in the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Avenue, Lansdale, and are invited to attend his funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, North Wales.

In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons in memory of Richard may be made to Mater Dei Catholic School, 493 E. Main St, Lansdale, PA 19446 or to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org/give.
