McGowan leads Souderton past Trojans

Riley McGowan finished with six goals and two assists as the Souderton girls lacrosse team cruised to a third straight victory, defeating Wissahicko­n 19-5 in their Suburban One League American Conference matchup Wednesday.

Maddie Knight and Carlie Doughty had four and three goals, respec- tively, for the Indians (62, 2-1 conference). Sarah Goodwin added two goals and five assists.

METHACTON 18, PHOENIXVIL­LE 5 >> Alana Caraci scored five goals, Jackie Cerchio had a goal and seven assists and Methacton rolled to a PAC victory Wednesday.

Aubrey Hazlett added three goals while Sydney Tornetta finished with a goal and three assists for the Warriors (8-3, 5-2 PAC Liberty).

PERK VALLEY 19, UPPER MERION 14 >> Paige Tyson had a game-high five goals as Perkiomen Valley claimed Wednesday’s clash of Vikings.

Francesca Lindelow and Molly Weygand each had three goals for Upper Merion. PV’s Alex Maurer and Sydney Marasco both finished with four goals.

ABINGTON 16, SPRINGFIEL­D 7>> Abington pulled away to win Wednesday’s SOL American matchup thanks to an 11-goal second half .

Lindsey Smith paced Springfiel­d with three goals.

Baseball

METHACTON 9, UPPER PERK 0 >> Ben Christian struck out seven over five innings and also drove in a pair of runs as Methacton shut out Upper Perkiomen Wednesday for its third straight victory.

Patrick O’Neill was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs for the Warriors. Nick Wheeler had two RBIs.

HATBORO-HORSHAM 1, WISSAHICKO­N 0 >> Hatboro-Horsham scored Tuesday’s only run on Ryan O’Donnell’s RBI single in the top of the first inning while Brian Edgington outdueled Logan Willans as the Hatters claimed the SOL American win.

Edgington tossed a twohit shutout, striking out eight and did not allow a walk.

Willans also threw a complete game, giving up one earned run on two hits, walked two and struck out eight.

DOCK 10, CALVARY BAPTIST 0 (0) >> Andrew Walters went 3-for-4 with four RBI while six pitchers combined to shutout Calvary Baptist in Dock Mennonite’s six-inning victory Tuesday.

MORRISVILL­E 7, FAITH CHRISTIAN 6 >> David Forscht and Josiah Smith each had two hits but the Lions dropped the game Tuesday.

Softball

UPPER PERK 10, METHACTO N3>> Methacton plated Wednesday’s first three runs in the top of the second, but Upper Perk scored four in the bottom of the frame then six more in the fourth.

Sophie D’Addesi had a double, two RBIs and a run score for the Warriors.

Boys Lacrosse

BOYERTOWN 8, METHACTON 7>> Methacton outscored Boyertown 5-0 in the fourth quarter but the Warriors comeback came up short Tuesday.

Ryan O’Toole had three goals and assists for Methacton while Kyle Kacala scored twice.

EPISCOPALT­hatcher scored10, GA three4 >> Jamesgoals for Germantown Academy while Brad Palmer had a pair of assists as the Patriots fell in Tuesday’s InterAc matchup.

PERK John VALLEYPaul II 6, goalkeeper­PJP II >> Pope Noah Balliet stopped 27 of 33 shots but Perkiomen Valley shut out the Golden Panthers Wednesday.

Shawn Coulter and Mario Scotest each scored twice for the Vikings.

Boys Volleyball

DOCK 3, HAVERFORD 2 >> Dock survived 28-26, 21-25, 2517, 19-25 and 15-12 Tuesday night. Dan Moyer was a blocking force at the net four stuff blocks and multiple touches slowing down the Fords attack. Setter Jeremy Yoder had 30 assists, 9 digs and 2 aces. Ryan Class handed in a strong performanc­e with six aces, nine kills and 13 digs.

On defense, Jaden Hunsberger had 25 digs and four aces, Connor Derstine added eight digs and three aces. Lincoln Bergey led the team with 15 kills and added 12 digs. Jason Landis added seven kills and two blocks, Sam Gingerich also added a block.

Boys Tennis

WISSAHICKO­N 6, HH 1 >>

Wissahicko­n swept doubles and got singles victories from Sam Barsh and Thomas O’Farrell in winning Wednesday’s SOL American match.

Pietro Sanna won first singles for Hatboro-Horsham.

METHACTON 7 UPPER MERION 0 >> Subhanik Purkayasth­a won first singles over Upper Merion’s Jaden Mayer 6-0, 6-1 as Methacton swept Wednesday’s PAC match. OWEN J. ROBERTS 7, PJP II 0 >> Owen J. Roberts won each match in straight sets in its PAC win over Pope John Paul II.

EPISCOPAL ACADEMY 6, GA 1 >> Edik Pribitkin earned Germantown Academy’s lone win Tuesday at first singles as the Patriots dropped to 2-3 (2-1 Inter-Ac). DEVON PREP 7, DOCK 0 >> Devon Prep did not drop a set in handing Dock Mennonite a BAL loss Tuesday.
