Upper Dublin cruises past Springfiel­d

The Upper Dublin softball team had its bats going against Springfiel­d Thursday, the Cardinals collecting 14 hits as they rolled to a 14-0 victory over the Spartans.

The Upper Dublin softball team had a big day at the plate, collecting 21 hits and taking advantage of six Springfiel­d-Montco errors to pick up a 14-0 Suburban One League American Conference win Thursday.

Sarah Tannenbaum went 4-for-6 with three RBIs and a triple to lead UD while Jackie McMenamin, Taylor Avery, Korynn Bischoff and Ellie Kelcy all had two hits for the Cardinals.

Upper Dublin scored half of its runs in the first inning.

WISSAHICKO­N 6, CHELTENHAM­5>> Michela Coleman’s unassisted double-play in the seventh inning secured the Trojans’ first win of the seasopn on Thursday.

Sara Genell picked up the win, allowing seven hits while Zoe Trumbore drove in a pair of runs and Siani Paige-Miller had three hits, including two doubles, for Wissahicko­n.

ARCHBISHOP WOOD 2, BONNER-PRENDIE 0 >> Wood’s Marissa Browne spun a two-hit gem as the Vikings topped the Pandas in PCL play on Thursday.

It was Wood’s third win this week with the Vikings claiming a non-league victory over Council Rock South and a PCL win over Cardinal O’Hara prior to Thursday’s contest.

CB EAST 9, WILLIAM TENNENT 6 >> The Panthers gave up a combined eight runs in the fourth and fifth innings Thursday, which was too much for the offense to overcome.

Brianna Koonce went 2-for-4 at the plate while Marissa Govan and Caitlyn Mitros each stroked a triple for Tennent. Baseball QUAKERTOWN 2, UPPER MORELAND 0 >> Justin Guidos no-hit the visting Golden Bears to keep Quaketown atop the SOL American standings on Thursday.

Matt Bukavitch provided both RBI for Quakertown while Guidos aided his effort with a double. Upper Moreland pitcher Tommy Jacob allowed just three hits in the complete-game loss.

PENNRIDGE 4, CB WEST 0 >> Andrew Mayhew dominated on the mound, throwing a two-hit shutout to lead the Rams to a road win on Thursday.

Rams batters Joe Rob- inson, Sean Yoder, Kyle Yoder and Andrew Fantaskey each contribute­d an RBI in the shutout victory.

WILLIAM TENNENT 6, CB EAST 0 >> The Panthers got a strong outing from Chris Sliwka as they edged the Patriots on the road in SOL Continenta­l play Thursday.

Sliwka improved to 3-0, allowing just three hits and striking out nine in 6 2/3 innings. Matt Hartstein had three hits and Greg Delgado had two hits to lead Tennent.

Boys Lacrosse

LC 13, CARDINAL O’HARA 1 >> Grady Kelly had four goals and two assists, Joe Walsh scored four times and Lansdale Catholic rolled to a PCL victory Wednesday.

Bob Bausman made 11 saves for the Crusaders while Nick Heiler had three assists and won 11 of 16 faceoffs.

ST. JOSEPH’S PREP 13, ARCHBISHOP WOOD 6 >> The Prep turned a close game into a one-sided win thanks to a strong second half effort. Wood trailed just 5-4 at the break but the Hawks scored six goals in the third quarter to break the game open. Rhys Vaughn scored four goals for Wood and Tim Brandenbur­g provided the other two Viking scores. Girls Lacrosse GA 16, SCH ACADEMY 7 >> GA used a strong first half to take an Inter-Ac win over the Blue Devils on Thursday.

Olivia Doody led the Patriots with five goals and an assist while Isabelle Jacobs put away four goals. Belle McMahon had five assists with Maddie Burns assisting three. Zoe Torrey made 12 saves for GA.

MALVERN PREP 68, GA 44 >> Germantown Academy got wins from Kyle McCloskey (high jump), Olatide Abinusawa (shot put), Alejandro Gonzales (800) and Kevin Lamb (300 hurdles) as it fell in Wedneday’s Inter-Ac dual meet with Malvern Prep.

Jamie Hermance (high jump, 300 hurdles) and Issy Goldstein (1600, 3200) both won two events for the Patriots.

UPPER DUBLIN 3, SOUDERTON 2 >> Upper Dublin rallied for a 2-0 deficit, taking Wednesday SOL Continenta­l match with a 15-11 victory in Game 5.

Mike Pagan had 19 kills for Souderton (6-3, 5-3 conference) while Aaron Moyer had 15 digs. PENNRIDGE 3, CB WEST 2 >> Ben Chinnici finished with 23 kills, three blocks and three aces as Pennridge edged Central Bucks West 15-13 in the fifth game to earn a SOL Continenta­l victory Wednesday.

Corey Quaste handed out 55 assists while Cross Edwards had 16 kills and 16 digs for the Rams (4-4, 4-3 conference).
