Dean named to accrediting body’s board of directors
Dr. Heather Pfleger, dean of the School of Business and Education at Gwynedd Mercy University, was recently elected to the Board of Directors for the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE) at their International Assembly.
Gwynedd Mercy University has received specialized accreditation for its business programs through the IACBE, which awards accreditation to programs that are mission-driven and outcomes-based. The IACBE’s Board of Directors is responsible for strategic planning and implementation, as well as fiscal oversight for the IACBE. Dr. Pfleger was elected to a threeyear term.
Dr. Pfleger has served almost 30 years in higher education, and previously worked in the banking industry as an economist. She earned her bachelor’s degree in economics from Rutgers University, her MBA in finance from Farleigh Dickinson University, and her EdD in instructional leadership from St. John’s University.
