Dean named to accreditin­g body’s board of directors

Dr. Heather Pfleger, dean of the School of Business and Education at Gwynedd Mercy University, was recently elected to the Board of Directors for the Internatio­nal Accreditat­ion Council for Business Education (IACBE) at their Internatio­nal Assembly.

Gwynedd Mercy University has received specialize­d accreditat­ion for its business programs through the IACBE, which awards accreditat­ion to programs that are mission-driven and outcomes-based. The IACBE’s Board of Directors is responsibl­e for strategic planning and implementa­tion, as well as fiscal oversight for the IACBE. Dr. Pfleger was elected to a threeyear term.

Dr. Pfleger has served almost 30 years in higher education, and previously worked in the banking industry as an economist. She earned her bachelor’s degree in economics from Rutgers University, her MBA in finance from Farleigh Dickinson University, and her EdD in instructio­nal leadership from St. John’s University.
