Patricia Marie Cullen McCloskey of Lansdale.

Patricia Marie Cullen McCloskey, aka Trish M. and Mrs. Mac, 67, of Lansdale, beloved wife, mother, Mom-Mom, sister, aunt and friend, went home to be with Her Savior on Monday, May 9, 2017, at 6:55 p.m.

She was the matriarch of our large Irish family, “the glue that held us all together.” She made sure that each person she encountere­d felt loved with her infectious smile, kind words and encouragem­ent along with her infamous hugs!

Trish was preceded in death by her brother, Christophe­r Cullen; parents, Edward and Kathryn (Leahy) Cullen; and mother-in-law, Caroline McCloskey. She is survived by her husband, William J. McCloskey III; children, Shane M. McCloskey and Liisa Korpela, Erin and Tony Steele; grandchild­ren Mary Roman, Caleb Steele, Lilja Korpela McCloskey, and Leah Steele; her siblings Michael J. Cullen (Marlene), Dennis J. Cullen (Jane), Mary M. Landis (David), Kathleen M. Cullen, Sheila C. Kelly (Robert), Brigid C. Hillman (Robert), Aileen C. Schlott (Robert McLane), Deirdre C. Rota (Pat), Maura C. Burke (Raymond) and Sean P. Cullen (Amy); and many, many, many, nieces and nephews and beloved friends.

Trish was a lifelong resident of Montgomery County and a lover of education. She started her education at St. Anthony’s of Ambler and attended Lansdale Catholic and Montgomery County Community College and graduated from Gwynedd Mercy College with a BA in education.

She began giving back as a teacher at Saint Al-fansous in Maple Glen and gave up teaching to become a mother.

Her body has been donated to a local medical school, and she will become a teacher once again as she helps advance medical education. She also will be giving someone the gift of sight through Gift of Life.

Driven by her Servant Heart, she mentored countless others in all phases of her life. She touched people as a Vista volunteer, a den mother, Girl Scout leader, the wife of a Scout master of Troop 178 and mother of an Eagle Scout, a sponsor and supported scads of 12-steppers. A part of the soul lives in the rooms at her beloved Church of Messiah, which was her sanctuary, her village and her home for 27 years.

A Celebratio­n of Life will be on Saturday, May 13, at The Church of the Messiah, 1001 DeKalb Pike, Lower Gwynedd Township, PA, 19002. The family will be receiving guests beginning at 10:30 a.m. A Eucharisti­c service will begin promptly at 12:30 p.m.
