HATBORO-HORSHAM 3, UPPER DUBLIN 0 >> Hatboro-Horsham blanked Upper Dublin, 3-0, Friday afternoon to maintain it’s onegame lead over Quakertown at the top of the Suburban One League American Conference standings.

Alex Crim threw a complete game for the Hatters and struck out eight batters, the fifth consecutiv­e shutout for Hatboro-Horsham.

Eric Jester knocked in two runs to break a scoreless tie in the fourth inning and Ryan O’Donnell picked up an RBI in the fifth to make it 3-0.

Colby Rush and Joe Robinson each knocked in a run in the top of the fourth inning to lift Pennridge over William Tennent, 2-1, in SOL Continenta­l action Friday afternoon.

Gavin Lafferty led the Drakes with four hits and three RBI. He also struck out eight batters in four innings on the mound.

UPPER MORELAND 8, WISSAHICKO­N 2 >> Upper Moreland handled Wissahicko­n, 8-2, Friday afternoon in SOL American action.

The Golden Bears are fighting for a spot in the District 1 Class-6A playoffs. They entered the week No. 13 in the unofficial power rankings and the top 20 teams make the playoffs.

District 1-AAA Boys Tennis

UPPER DUBLIN DUO IN SEMIS >> No. 1 seed Bryan Szayna/ Danny Katz of Upper Dublin clinched a spot in states and advanced to the semifinals Friday. The Cards duo held of Owen J Roberts’ Holden Smith and Brandon Miller, 4-6, 6-2, 6-0 in the quarterfin­als.

North Penn’s Frank Yanni and Brijai Varma couldn’t get past the quarterfin­als, falling to No. 2 seed Greg Zlobinsky and Issac Rockower of Abington, 6-4, 6-4.

With five teams now qualifying for states, Yanni and Varma are still alive for a bid.

Action continues today at the Healthplex in Springfiel­d.
