Esther C. Schlosser of Harleysville

Esther C. Schlosser, 97, of Harleysville, formerly of Souderton, entered into heaven on Monday, May 15, 2017, at Peter Becker Community, where she was a resident.

She was the wife of the late Irvin L. Schlosser, who died in 1991.

Born and raised in Souderton, she was a daughter of the late Irwin and Daisy Alderfer.

She was a graduate of Souderton High School and was a charter member of Calvary Church, Souderton.

She enjoyed playing golf and had a hole in one at Indian Valley Country Club.

Esther helped her husband start his business, Schlosser Steel Inc., Hatfield, and for a time ran the lathe at his small shop.

For most of her adult life, Esther was a wife and mother of three children.

She is survived by her children, Dennis Schlosser (Marjorie) of Telford, Sandra Velarde (Rodney) of Telford and Barbara Hickman (Gordon) of Souderton; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchil- dren; and various nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Alderfer of Telford.

A viewing for Esther will be held from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Friday, May 19, at Calvary Church, 820 Route 113, Souderton, where a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be private in the adjoining church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Church Benevolent Fund, at the above address.
