Week of June 11 UPPER MERION AREA HIGH SCHOOL REUNION

Thurs., June 15: The Upper Merion Area High School Class of 1967 invite all Upper Merion and Bridgeport H.S. Alumni from classes of 1960, 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 66, 67, 68, and 69, spouses, family and friends to a once in a lifetime casual momentous Dragon/Spartan/Viking Reunion. This is a “Back to the 60s Alumni Anniversar­y Graduation Celebratio­n.” We extend a special invitation to the unforgetta­ble Alumni and the last Bridgeport Dragon Class of 66 and U.M. Spartan Class of 66. To be held on Thursday Evening, June 15th, 2017 from 5 – 11 P.M. at Angelo’s Pizza and Screwballs Sports Bar & Grille in the Sweetbriar Shopping Center, 216 W. Saturday, June 17: The Historical Society of Montgomery County will present Slim the Lineman, the story of Leslie W. Morrison (1899-1974) and his journey north from his family home in South Carolina to work for the Philadelph­ia Electric Company, at the historical society, 1654 DeKalb St., Norristown, June from 12:30 to 2 p.m. This program is free and open to the public.

Week of June 18 KNEE DEEP IN THE CREEK

Tues., June 20: Get “Knee Deep in the Creek” at Norristown Farm Park on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 10 am. Celebrate the beginning of summer by bringing the family to a creek investigat­ion. Examine the creatures that are adapted to life in the water. Wear sturdy water shoes or old sneakers. Expect to get wet! If you have a net, bring it along. July 29-30: Sacred Heart Parish in Swedesburg will hold its Festival of Families July 29 and 30 in the old Sacred Heart School yard across from Sacred Heart Church, 120 Jefferson St. The festival will again have the big food lineup. The event will feature Where’s Pete and local Bridgeport group AM Radio. Children’s games will also be on the festival grounds.

Saturday, Aug. 5: Maenner-Chor Club outing at Westover Golf Club, 401 South Schuylkill Ave, Jeffersonv­ille, PA 19403. First tee time is 10 a.m. and all tee times are Blind Draw. Hole sponsorshi­ps are available for $50. Prizes will be awarded for top score; longest drive; closest to the pin. Refreshmen­ts will be provided on the course. SUMMER ART CAMP

Beginning June 19: Greater Norristown Art League’s Summer Art Camp will run eight week-long sessions through August for children ages 6-14. June sessions run from June 19 through June 23, and June 26 through June 30. Each session will go from 10 am to 2 pm, Mon – Fri.
