Police bust duo dealing Molly, more
Colin Pisut, 20, arraigned Thursday; charges are pending against unnamed second suspect in case
Police say a 20-year-old Towamencin man and a co-conspirator have been busted running an illegal drug mini-market in which they dealt marijuana, Xanax, LSD, THC oil and MDMA — better known as Molly.
Colin Pisut, of the 800 block of Continental Drive, was taken into custody and arraigned Thursday afternoon on 14 criminal counts — four counts each of felony possession with intent to distrib-
ute a controlled substance and felony conspiracy, one count of felony criminal use of a communication facility, four counts of misdemeanor receipt in commerce of a controlled substance and one count of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
The second suspect’s identity is being withheld pending the official filing of criminal charges.
Detectives said in court documents that the investigation led Towamencin police, along with members of the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Local Drug Task Force, to raid Pisut’s residence — a condominium that he shared with the second suspect.
Found and seized from Pisut’s bedroom, according to charging documents, were marijuana, Molly capsules, THC oil residue, a bag containing empty multi-colored capsules and a glass smoking pipe.
In the second suspect’s living quarters, police found THC oil, marijuana, two-dozen alprazolam pills (the active ingredient in Xanax), a digital scale, various drug packaging materials, drug paraphernalia, brass knuckles, a ledger with evidence of drug sales and a wallet containing fake identification and more than $1,000 in cash, including currency used during controlled buys conducted during the investigation, court documents indicate.
Detectives said they also discovered a safe belonging to the second suspect that, when opened, was found to contain more than 700 alprazolam and Xanax pills, 178 Molly capsules and two heat-sealed bags filled with more Molly, 62 tabs of LSD and two baby bottles containing a purple substance later confirmed by a lab as levomethorphan, an illegal opioid analgesic.
The total street value of the seized drugs was approximately $12,000, authorities said.
A search of the second suspect’s car yielded two pills in a bag under the driver’s seat that were later determined via lab analysis to contain fentanyl, according to court documents.
Both suspects provided written consent for searches of their cellphones, which turned up “both clear and obscure text messages” between Pisut and his co-conspirator regarding illegal drug sales, as well as “obvious text messages” between the two suspects and various customers about drug sales, court documents indicate.
Pisut was arraigned before Lansdale District Judge Edward Levine, who set bail at $50,000 unsecured, allowing Pisut to remain free while awaiting his June 29 preliminary hearing.
Police said Thursday that criminal charges against the second suspect — a variety of felony and misdemeanor drugrelated offenses, as well as possession of a prohibited offensive weapon — are expected to be filed soon.
