Tues., June 20: – Explore Lorimer Park and the Bethayres Swamp, an official Audubon IBA (Important Bird Area) during an Audubon Bird Town Bird Walk on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 8:00 am to look for resident species. All are welcome, including new birders and experience­d birders alike. Leaders will be from the Wyncote Audubon Society. Participan­ts are encouraged to bring their own binoculars. FIREFLIES: NATURE’S FIREWORKS AT NORRISTOWN FARM PARK

Saturday, June 24: Join a field biologist at Norristown Farm Park at 8:30 p.m. for an evening to discover the world of fireflies, also known as lightning bugs (which are neither flies nor bugs). Learn about their amazing behavior and life cycle. The program begins just before dusk and ends just after dusk. Flashlight­s are suggested. Sunday, June 25: Join Ranger Mike on a tour of Norristown Farm Park at 2 p.m. as he showcases the largest trees in the park. Learn about the natural history of individual tree species and why some can grow so much bigger than the rest. Forest ecology will be covered as well. WHITPAIN GOLF CLASSIC

Mon. June 26: The Whitpain Golf Classic will be held June 26 at Blue Bell Country Club. Merrill Reese, the voice of the Philadelph­ia Eagles, is the event’s honorary chairperso­n. Other celebritie­s will play in the event. Playing spots are available for $150 per golfer.
