A 21-year-old Towamencin woman was taken into custody and arraigned Tuesday in connection to what police have described as a residential burglary in Lansdale in February.

Courtney Frances Walsh, of the 1050 block of Nash Avenue, has been charged with felony counts of burglary, criminal trespassing and theft for an alleged incident that occurred the afternoon of Feb. 22 on the 300 block of North Valley Forge Road.

Detectives said in an affidavit of probable cause that a resident had returned home and heard someone walking around upstairs, then

saw Walsh come down the stairs.

Walsh said the resident’s son knew Walsh was in the house and that she had gotten in because the doors were unlocked, according to the affidavit. However, police said, the resident called

her son, who said that he hadn’t allowed Walsh to be there, and the resident then told Walsh to leave.

Walsh left the home with a large bag, and then the resident found her bedroom in disarray and that a window was open, leading her to believe that’s how Walsh entered the residence, according to the affidavit.

The resident then found a number of items missing

from the home, including a gold engagement ring and several other pieces of jewelry, car keys, $900 in cash, and several prescription medications.

Walsh is free on $50,000 unsecured bail while awaiting a June 27 preliminary hearing in the case.

It was not immediately known whether any of the stolen items have been recovered.
