After a police investigation, a 22-yearold Towamencin man has been charged with assaulting another man inside a township 7-Eleven convenience store last month, authorities said.

Jessie Raymond Kilgore Hernandez, of the 500 block of Clarella Court, was charged Wednesday with one count each of seconddegree misdemeanor simple assault and summary harassment in connection with the alleged May 21 incident inside the 7-Eleven at 1035 Allentown Road.

Police said in a criminal complaint that the victim had been paying for his purchase when an unknown male threw his skateboard at the man and then said to him, “What you looking at?”

The victim started to walk out when the alleged assailant said something else to him, then hit him in the face when he turned around before fleeing the store, police said. The victim sustained a cut lip as a result of the assault, police said.

A witness said that he recognized the assailant as someone who worked at a nearby car wash, according to court documents.

On June 7, cops located a male matching the description of the assailant wearing a sweatshirt with the car wash logo while walking on Allentown Road and stopped to question him. The male, identified as Kilgore-Hernandez, immediately said he was the person involved in the fight inside the 7-Eleven and provided a statement to police.

A summons was issued Wednesday for Kilgore-Hernandez to appear in Lansdale district court on July 20 for a preliminary hearing in the matter.
