Police: Man busted for dealing OxyContin
Avraham Sason, 49, faces felony drug-dealing and other charges for allegedly peddling OxyContin
LANSDALE » Towamencin police have arrested a 49-year-old Souderton man for allegedly dealing prescription opioid pills after a monthlong investigation that included several controlled drug buys, detectives said.
Avraham Sason, of the 400 block of Railroad Avenue, faces three counts of felony possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, two counts of felony criminal use of a communication facility and two counts of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police said in charging documents that after multiple controlled buys in Souderton in May and June during which Sason sold OxyContin pills to customers, Towamencin detectives — along with Montgomery County detectives and members of the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Local Drug Task Force executed a search warrant on Sason’s residence and recovered 110 OxyContin pills and 57 oxycodone hydrochloride pills with a total street value of more than $5,000, as well as serialized cash bills that had been given to Sason during the controlled transactions.
Authorities also seized Sason’s cell phone and, after obtaining a warrant to search it, found “both clear communications and coded com-
munications by drug customers seeking to buy controlled substances from
Avraham Sason,” according to court documents.
Sason was arraigned and then committed to Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 cash bail, although on June 26 he was expected
to be released from jail imminently after he opted to waive all charges for trial and had his bail reduced to $50,000 unsecured.
A formal arraignment date in Montgomery County court is pending.
