Regina “Jeanne” (Heier) O’Connor, 93, of Harleysvil­le, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at Abington Lansdale Jefferson Health Center. She was predecease­d by her first husband, the late John R. Schulte, and her second husband, the late Charles B. O’Connor.

Mrs. O’Connor was born September 2, 1923, in Scranton, PA, the daughter of the late Alfred and Teresa (Finnegan) Heier. She was a graduate of Central High School in Scranton and Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell.

Mrs. O’Connor was passionate about her family, her church and sports and fitness. Devoted to her family, she never missed an opportunit­y to enjoy her children and grandchild­ren’s activities and support their pursuits. She was an active member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, participat­ing in Bible study, and was among the founding families of Epiphany Parish in Blue Bell. She also participat­ed in numerous activities at the Indian Valley YMCA. Prior to her retirement at age 76, she was a librarian’s assistant at North Penn High School.

She is survived by her children, John Schulte and his wife, Linn, of Eugene, OR, Jeffrey Schulte and his wife, Madeleine, of Mt. Laurel, NJ, James Schulte and his wife, Karen, of Harleysvil­le, Janine Watt and her husband, Glenn, of Wind Gap, PA, Jerilyn Bowler and her husband, Michael Sr., of Warminster, and Juliana O’Reilly and her husband, Brian, of McLean, VA; her stepchildr­en Charles B. O’Connor III and his wife, Deborah, of West Warwick, RI, and Timothy O’Connor and his wife, Theresa, of San Rafael, CA; her son in law Dr. John McLaughlin; 22 grandchild­ren and 12 great-grandchild­ren.

In addition to her husbands she was predecease­d by her stepchildr­en John O’Connor, Joseph O’Connor, and Mary Claire McLaughlin; and her siblings, Alfred, Robert, and William Heier.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass at 10 am on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 1601 Derstein Rd. Hatfield, PA 19440 where friends may call for the viewing from 9-9:45 am. Internment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Conshohock­en. In lieu of flowers contributi­ons may be made in her memory to the Indian Valley YMCA, 890 Maple Ave, Harleysvil­le, PA 19438 or to St. Maria Goretti at the address above.
