Mary Ellen Van Matre of Souderton; Kenneth L. Morris of North Wales; Mildred R. Weibley of Telford; William E. Marsden Jr. of Lansdale.

Mary Ellen Van Matre (nee Hughes), age 82, died July 29, 2017, at her home in Lions Gate Community, Souderton, PA.

She was born in Dodgeville, WI, the daughter of the late Eugene and Cleo (nee Potterton) Hughes. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Lansdale and Worthy Matron of Priscilla Chapter 64 Order of the Eastern Star.

She was the wife of the late Frederick A. Van Matre, who died in January 1986.

She is survived by three children, Mary Lynn Smith (James) of Atlanta, GA, Laura Thorpe of Media, PA, and Allen Van Matre of Quakertown, PA; also eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one brother, David Hughes (Joan) of Beetown, WI.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Service at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, in the Shelly-Dinan Funeral Home, 24 E. Main St., Lansdale, PA.

Interment is private for family only. Friends may call from 1 until 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
