Charles N. “Charlie” Mininger Jr., age 85, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus, his Savior, on Aug. 8, 2017.

He was the beloved husband of Arlene (Stover) Mininger for more than 66 years.

Born Oct. 24, 1931, in Telford, PA, he was a son of the late Charles B. and Eva N. (Nice) Mininger.

After growing up in the Franconia area, Charles graduated from Palmer College of Chiropract­ic in Davenport, IA, and was a chiropract­or for almost 30 years in Binghamton, NY.

After retiring to Sarasota, FL, Charles was an active volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, Sunnyside Nursing Home and his church. In Souderton, Charles was an active volunteer at Care and Share and the Souderton Mennonite Homes.

He loved to help water and care for the beautiful flowers and deliver the mail, and he always delivered his glowing smile to everyone he met.

Charles was a member of Franconia Mennonite Church for the last nine years. Prior to that he was an active member of Bahia Vista Mennonite Church, Sarasota, FL. and Lakeview Mennonite Church, Lakeview, PA.

In addition to his wife, Arlene, he is survived by his son, Jay Mininger, and his wife, Kelly (Winters); grandchild­ren Kurt Mininger and his wife, Alexandra (Hull), and Patricia and Kaitlin Mininger; two incredible great-grandchild­ren, Adeline and Grant Mininger; one brother, Earl Mininger, and his wife, Betty; one sister, Lois Donaldson; brothers and sisters-in-law Ralph Landes, Harold and Donna Stover, John Grasse, Linda and Vern Nyce and Betty Stover; and many nieces and nephews

Family and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14, at the Souderton Mennonite Homes, 207 W. Summit St., Souderton, where the family will greet guests from 2 to 3:45 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons in his name may be made to Souderton Mennonite Homes c/o Elizabeth’s garden Fund at the address above.
