Church of the Holy Spirit: The Episcopal church 2871 Barndt Road at Sumneytown Pike, Upper Salford, will hold a Celtic Healing Service at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 24. Weather permitting, it will be held outside on the church labyrinth, or it will be taken indoors in inclement weather. The Celtic style service includes music, prayer and meditation. Private prayer and hands-on healing (Reiki) will be available. A welcoming picnic dinner will precede the service at 6:30 p.m. for those who wish to share a meal. Congregati­on Beth Or: Sara Baum has been named assistant director of the Zipporah S. Abramson Center for Early Childhood Education. For the past two years Baum has served as both a lead teacher for the 2-year-old class and as a teacher in the toddler class. Her expertise encompasse­s the spectrum of a full-time instructor in a classroom of 10 to 12 children, planning and implementi­ng curriculum, as well as tailoring lessons to children of various special needs. In addition she has served as a mentor to other teachers, as well as a communicat­or with Beth Or families. Prior to joining Beth Or, Baum spent 10 years as a lead teacher in various schools.

St. John’s Lutheran Church Ridge Valley: At 6 p.m. tonight will be a Bell Tower Concert at the church, 910 Allentown Road, West Rockhill. Holy Trinity Episcopal Church: The church at Fourth and Broad streets in Lansdale hosts a discussion group on various topics each Monday from 2 to 3 p.m. This is open to the community. Anyone who would like to connect with others in a discussion group setting is invited. Supplies especially needed in restocking the pantry are: canned soups, canned fruits/ vegetables, stewed tomatoes, tomato paste, fruit juice in plastic containers, peanut butter and jelly, tuna, beef stew, spaghetti sauce, chili, pasta, instant potatoes, Minute Rice, Hamburger Helper and Spaghetti-Os, cereal, diapers, personal hygiene products, body wash and shampoo, paper products, detergent and pet food.
