Ronald L. Kulp of Telford; Melvin R. Nice of Franconia.

Ronald L. Kulp, 73, of Telford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at home with his family. He was the beloved husband of Roseann (Slonaker) Kulp, with whom he had just celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.

Born April 4, 1944 in Lansdale, he was the son of the late Raymond and Florence (Miller) Kulp.

Mr. Kulp owned and operated RL Kulp Disposal Service, which serviced Montgomery County for over 40 years, until a tragic accident in 2004 ended his career. He loved playing poker and played weekly with the guys for many years. He enjoyed camping trips with family and friends, deer hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and bowling with his wife on a couple’s league during his younger years.

Mr. Kulp was a member of The Sellersville American Legion and The Pike Township Sportmen’s Association. He took great pride in his home and his lawn spending countless hours mowing and landscaping. He was also an avid fan of all of the Philadelphia sports teams.

Ron loved to spend time with his wife, and they had a standing weekly date every Saturday night for many years going out to dinner and dancing. Sundays were always set aside for big family dinners with his children and grandchildren.

Ron will always be remembered as the man with the red R.L. Kulp Disposal hat and his trademark cigar.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five daughters, Tamra Kulp Altomare, Kelly Kulp, Rhonda Kulp, Trisha Kulp, and Melissa Kulp Frick, all of Telford; sonsin-law, Craig Altomare & Gary Lee Frick, Jr., also of Telford; Kevin Groarke, whom he lovingly referred to as his son, of Spring House; 10 grandchildren, Craig Matthew (Becky), Michael, Makenna (Rich), Thomas John, Joel Ronald, Delaney, Raelee, Bubba, Sawyer, and Hunter Ronald; and one great-grandson, Miles. “Uncle Ronnie” also had many nephews that he lovingly viewed as his sons.

He was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers.

Relatives and friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale, followed by the Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, please give your hardworking trashman a great tip.
