Jail time for meth dealing
Dominic Cerminara, 51, sentenced to time behind bars more than two years after his arrest by local and state police
NORRISTOWN » A convicted 51-year-old North Penn meth dealer has been sentenced to time behind bars, according to court records.
Dominic Anthony Cerminara, of the 400 block of Renfrew Avenue in Upper Dublin, was sentenced by a Montgomery County judge to eight to 23 months in jail, to be followed by five years of probation.
Cerminara pleaded guilty in April to one count of felony possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, but the determination of his punishment was deferred to August to allow for the completion of a pre-sentencing evaluation.
Cerminara was taken into custody back in May of 2015 after a joint investigation by Pennsylvania State Police and Hatfield Township police into his drug-dealing activities, court documents show.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, in December of 2014, police used a confidential informant to make a controlled meth buy from Cerminara, who, according to the CI, was in the habit of taking a customer’s money, driving to an unknown location, and then meeting with the customer later to hand over the arranged amount of drugs and complete the transaction.
Officers observed the CI put money in Cerminara’s white BMW at an arranged location in the
North Penn area, then saw Cerminara deliver crystal meth to the CI at another location in the area the next day after setting up the second meeting via cellphone, the affidavit says.
Cerminara’s sentencing comes more than two
years after the case proceeded to county court; during that time, records show, Cerminara waived his right to a prompt trial before entering his guilty plea in the spring.
Cerminara, who is currently serving his sentence at Montgomery County Correctional Facility, was also assessed more than $4,500 in court costs, records show.
