Ruth Ann Tyson of Souderton.

Ruth Ann Tyson, 84, of Souderton, Pennsylvan­ia, went to be with the Lord on September 28, 2017, at home. She was born on March 24, 1933, in Dublin, Pennsylvan­ia, and was the daughter of the late J. Arthur and Grace C. (Megary) Moyer who raised their family there.

She was the loving wife of Willard K. Tyson for 62 years. They enjoyed many travels together, raised their family in Souderton, and made their home at Souderton Community for 13 years.

Ruth was the proud and supportive mother of three girls, Charleen Tyson (Hull, MA), Kimberly Tyson (Carmel, IN), and Heather Carney (Souderton, PA). For many years, she and Willard enjoyed visiting Charleen and Kimberly several times each year. Ruth was a loving grandmothe­r and greatly enjoyed visiting spending time with her four grandchild­ren, Taylor Ruth Baldwin, Corbin Baldwin, Shannon Carney and Jaclyn Carney.

Ruth will be remembered as a woman of strong, Christian faith, which was evident in her daily life and an inspiratio­n to many. Ruth ministered to children by leading Good News Clubs in her home for many years. She was a faithful member of Hilltown Baptist Church, in Hilltown, where she served since she was a teenager. She loved her church family and served in many capacities including Sunday school teacher, head of the primary children’s department for many years, and head of the Vacation Bible School. She also led the “Young at Heart” seniors group for many years. Ruth was a kind, loving and generous person to her family and friends.

In her later years, Ruth worked as a teller for Penn View Savings. She greatly enjoyed this position at various branches for 10 years before retiring.

Ruth was preceded in death by her mother, Grace Moyer, and father, J. Arthur Moyer; sister Grace Moyer; brothers Harley Moyer, David Moyer, and Howard Moyer; sisters-in-law Margaret Moyer and Alice Moyer; and two infant brothers.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Willard; three daughters, Charleen, Kimberly, Heather and son-inlaw Tim; four grandchild­ren named above; and her dear sister Marie Bechtel and husband Ray, of Quakertown, Pa; along with many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebratio­n of Life held at Hilltown Baptist Church on Tuesday, October 3rd. Visitation will take place from 9:30-11 a.m. at the church with the service following at 11 a.m. Hilltown Baptist Church is located at 26 Upper Church Road, Hilltown, PA.

Interment will be in the Hilltown Baptist Cemetery in Hilltown, Pa.
