Daniel M. Ungvarsky of Lansdale

Daniel M. Ungvarsky, 86, of Lansdale, died Mon., Oct. 30, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Dolores (Makuch) Ungvarsky, his wife of 63 years.

Born July 3, 1931, in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late John and Anna (Kopec) Unvarsky. He was a graduate of Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre and Wilkes College and received a B.S.M.E. from Pennsylvania State University in 1953 and a M.S.M.E. from Drexel University in 1959. He retired from General Electric Company’s Space Systems Division in 1992 after a 35year career as an aerospace engineer.

He was a founding member and very active parishioner of Corpus Christi Church, Upper Gwynedd, where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a former president of Club 50. He also was a member and former leader of Elks Lodge #1979. He excelled at woodworking and contract bridge.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Ronald Ungvarsky (Susan Tomasky) of Bexley, OH, Carole Ungvarsky (Christopher Killian) of Berkeley, CA, and Diane Ungvarsky (T. Brooks Lyles, Jr.) of Leavenworth, KS and grandchildren, Daniel Killian, Victoria Ungvarsky, and Nora Killian. He is also survived by his sister, Rita Cooper, of Lansdale, as well as many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Christine Matiska, and his brothers, John Ungvarsky and Edward Unvarsky.

Relatives and friends may call from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at Corpus Christi Church, 900 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale, where the family will receive friends from 9:3010:45 a.m. Burial will be in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Sisters of Saints Cyril and Methodius, Villa Sacred Heart, 1002 Railroad St., Danville, PA 17821.
