Berkshire Hathaway holds Community Service Day
Sales associates and employees of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach, Realtors/The Trident Group volunteered Oct. 5 to lend a hand across the tri-state area at more than 250 nonprofit organizations for the 22nd annual Community Service Day.
Volunteers from the Blue Bell office spent the day at Silver Springs Martin Luther School in Plymouth Meeting doing yard work and organizing the storage room.
Volunteers from the Harleysville Home Marketing Center spent the day at Encore Senior Services in Harleysville working in the kitchen and dining room and participating in activities with the seniors.
Each fall, the tri-state area’s largest real estate brokerage closes its doors for the companywide annual Community Service Day so that sales associates and employees can spend the day at local nonprofits helping to paint, repair, stock food banks and cook meals to help the less fortunate in their communities.
“Community Service Day is the heart of Fox & Roach Charities,” Fox & Roach Charities President Kassie Erb explained. “This annual service day makes a difference in all of our lives, volunteers and recipients alike. We are pleased to be able to continue to offer more than the financial support we donate, through volunteer, hands-on help with all of their much-needed projects and tasks,” Erb explained.
Long & Foster welcomes sales associate
Scott Mayer, manager of Long & Foster Real Estate’s Lafayette Hill office announces Michael D. Serratore recently joined his sales team.
A commissioned notary public and certified signing agent, Serratore is a member of the National Association of Realtors and the Suburban West Realtors Association.
“I am excited to welcome Michael to the Lafayette Hill office,” Mayer said. “His involvement in the communities in which we work, his
industry knowledge and his ability to thoughtfully guide his clients through the home buying and selling process will fuel his success. Michael is a great addition to the Long & Foster sales team.”
Prior to earning his real estate license, Serratore was enlisted in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. After serving our country, he worked as a heavy equipment operator, foreman and administrator in residential, commercial and heavy highway construction. Serratore is also a commissioned notary public and has his own mobile notary business serving the mortgage, financial and legal industries. As a Long & Foster sales associate, he is now putting those skills and years of experience toward helping his clients find their dream homes.
“I remember when my wife and I bought our first house and the feeling of pride and accomplishment we had. I want my clients to feel that way,” Serratore said. “I want to be their trusted adviser throughout the home buying process and make sure that they are fully informed and equipped with the knowledge they need to make the best choice for themselves and their families.”
Serratore has been married for 34 years to his wife, Diane, and they have two grown children. An avid baseball fan, Serratore and his wife founded the Whitemarsh Baseball Association. The nonprofit organization affords young baseball players the opportunity to participate in player development leagues and provides academic scholarships to high school scholar-athletes based on academics, community service and baseball skills.
In their free time, Serratore and his wife enjoy traveling and riding their bikes into the city. He also likes gardening and woodworking.
