Dorothy Dora Mreczko

Dorothy Dora Mreczko, nee Lenchuk, 85, longtime resident of Telford, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017, in the Country Meadows of Lancaster, where she has resided since the passing of her son, Ted.

She was the beloved wife of 45 years to the late John Mreczko, who died in 1997.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late John and Josephine Lenchuk.

Dora graduated from Simon Gratz High School in Philadelphia.

She worked for several companies in Philadelphia including Brown Instrument, W.A. Burpee Seeds, and Whitman’s Chocolates.

When the family moved to Telford in 1970, John was an employee of Hatfield Packing Co., and Dora worked for the former Keller’s Creamery, Liverman Chevrolet in Souderton, Jamesway, and the Ross Store in Lansdale.

While working at Ross, she used her employee discount to purchase clothes, which she would then pack and send to her ancestral Ukraine as an act of charity.

Dora loved to crochet and cross stitch, and she also knitted many items that she sold at local fairs. She loved arts and crafts and was craft director at The Christian Ukranian Camp in the Poconos.

Dora was known by all for her hard work and cheerful disposition. Dora loved music and had a beautiful singing voice. She also taught herself to play the accordion. She loved the Lord and taught her children the same.

She is survived by her son, John, his wife, Regina, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; her daughter, Julia, her wife, Kathryn, two grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren; and two sisters, Mary and Steffie.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Taras and Stephen, and her sister, Jean.

Funeral Services will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, in the Sadler-Suess Funeral Home, 33 N. Main St., Telford, PA. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. prior to the service. Interment is private at the convenience of the family.
