William W. Besch, 89, formerly of Souderton, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2017 at Manor Care in Palm Harbor, FL.

He and his beloved wife, Esther J. (Krout) Besch, would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversar­y in December.

Born in Perkasie, he was the son of the late Raymond S. and Bessie B. (Wampole) Besch.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, achieving the rank of corporal.

He was employed as a window clerk for the U.S. Postal Service in Souderton for 30 years, prior to his retirement in 1983.

Mr. Besch was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Telford, where he served as the Sunday School Superinten­dent, and helped to organize the Souderton/ Telford Food Pantry. While residing in Florida, he actively attended Curlew United Methodist Church in Palm Harbor, FL where he was the former president of his Sunday School class. He also served as a volunteer at the Curlew Elementary School, and at the Palm Harbor Food Pantry.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, William Scott Besch, and his wife, Lorna “Lorie” of Telford; a daughter, Susan Jane Gilbert of Souderton; and two grandchild­ren, Skye Amber Gilbert and Lucas Braiden Detweiler. He was preceded in death by a son, Terry Lee Besch; a sister, Mildred Kilmer; a grandson, Brandon S. Gilbert; and a son-in-law, Galen Gilbert.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 11 AM in Grace United Methodist Church, 295 S. Main St., Telford. Family will receive friends following the service. Interment will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 10 AM in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Ambler, PA 19001. Memorial contributi­ons may be made in his memory to Highland Park Campmeetin­g Associatio­n, 415 Highland Park Rd., Sellersvil­le, PA 18960. Arrangemen­ts are by the Sadler-Suess Funeral Home, Telford.
