Until Dec. 11 PARADE GRAND MARSHAL NOMINATION­S ACCEPTED

Nomination­s: The Montgomery County St. Patrick’s Parade committee had its first meeting to set plans for the 2018 Conshohock­en St. Patrick’s Parade. The parade committee is made up of Ancient Order of Hibernians, Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians and Social members who support the AOH Notre Dame Division, which is located in Swedesburg, Upper Merion Township. The parade date is March 10, 2018 in Conshohock­en, with the start time of 2 pm at 11th and Fayette streets. Rain date will be March 24th. Along with the parade other events have been scheduled -- the Grand Marshal’s Ball will take place at the Elmwood Zoo Banquet Hall on March 3rd, and the Irish Coffee contest will take place at the AOH Hall on March 8th. The Grand Marshal selections are now being accepted. All letters must be sent to the St. Patrick’s Parade Committee at the following address: Attn. Grand Marshal Nomination­s, 719 Pershing Street, Bridgeport Pa. 19405 All letters must be received by Monday, December 11th. The announceme­nt will take place at the AOH Appreciati­on night on December 16th. To be nominated for Grand Marshal, you must be a resident of Montgomery County, be Irish by birth or descent, and be a person who has been a substantia­l contributo­r to the community. No nomination­s will be accepted after December 11th.

Week of November 26 MONTCO SENIOR CHOIR PERFORMANC­E

Sunday, Nov. 26: The Montco Senior Concert Choir will be presenting their annual Christmas concert at Asbury United Methodist Church on Sunday, November 26 at 2:00 P.M. The concert will feature music that is based on the religious significan­ce of the holiday as well as secular elements. The Montco Senior Concert Choir is comprised of seniors 55 and over and consists of approximat­ely 20 men and women. Most are from Montgomery County, but some are from Delaware and Bucks counties. The choir is led by Tedd Didden, who also serves as the organist and choir director at Asbury. The concert is free and open to the public. Asbury UMC is located at the corner of Pine and Freedley streets across from Montgomery Fire Company. In addition to street parking, concertgoe­rs may park in the parking lot behind the fire company. Please do not park in the first row, which is reserved for firefighte­rs.

PORK AND SAUERKRAUT DINNER

Sat, Dec. 2: Norriton Presbyteri­an Church, 608 N. Trooper Road (corner of Germantown Pike and Trooper Road) Fairview Village,will hold a pork and sauerkraut dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Cost is $10 adults, $5 kids under 12. Take-out dinners are available. Plenty of free parking.

Week of December 3 DESIGNER BAG BINGO

Sunday, Dec. 3: Norristown Maenner-Chor, 920 Haws Ave, Norristown, PA 19401, is hosting Designer Bag Bingo, featuring bags by Coach, Michael Kors, Vera Bradley and other top designers. Doors open at noon and Bingo begins at 1 p.m. Cost is $25 for regular Bingo, specials are available for 3 for $5; jackpot Bingo, coverall 3 for $ 5. Raffles and 50-50 will also be available.
