John Wallen, 74, of Lansdale, PA, passed away on Tuesday, November 28th, at Twin Pines Health Care Center, in West Grove, PA, after a 20-year battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was the husband of Kathleen Wallen of Kennett Square, PA.

John was born in Ashland, KY, to the late Willie and Thelma Dobson Wallen and grew up in Prestonsbu­rg, KY. He earned a B.S. degree and an M.S. degree in Organic Chemistry from the University of Kentucky. In 1972, John accepted a position in the Quality Control Department of Merck & Co., Inc. in West Point, PA, and moved to Lansdale and later, North Wales.

Throughout his life, John was a passionate Kentucky Wildcats basketball fan and enjoyed traveling throughout the country. He also enjoyed playing hide-and-seek and ball with Holly and Kate, the family poodles.

John is survived by cousins and other family members across the country including two nephews and four nieces in PA. Interment will be private.
