Rose Serrao, 88, of Doylestown, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2017. She was the beloved wife of 66 years to the late Salvatore A. “Sam” Serrao.

Born October 28, 1929, in Lansdale, she was a daughter of the late Adeline (Maiorano) Di Domizio.

Rose devoted her life to children, both her own and the others she came in contact with during her lifetime. She started her working career at Goldsmith Clothing. Rose began working with children during her time at Line Street Elementary. Later, Rose retired from West Point Elementary as their Cafeteria Manager. Her past times included volunteeri­ng with the Lansdale Little League, and meeting with the Ladies Auxiliary of Post 23.

Survivors include three children, Sandra Backlund (Tom), Anthony Serrao (Susan), and Frances “Fifi” Serrao; grandchild­ren, Shawna Boell (Steve), Thomas “TJ” Backlund (Stacey), Alana Pavigliani­ti (Frank), Elissa Weaver (Dave), Jonathan Backlund (Allison), and Andrea Bowers (Jason); 12 great grandchild­ren; a brother, Alfred Di Domizio (Marie); three sisters-in-law, Edith Di Domizio, Mary Di Domizio, and Alice June Di Domizio; along with many nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank Di Domizio, Robert Di Domizio, and George Di Domizio; and a sister, Ida Di Domizio.

There will be a viewing from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at St. Stanislaus, 51 Lansdale Avenue, Lansdale, PA 19446, with the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.

In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons in Rose’s name may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 3551 North Broad Street, Philadelph­ia, PA 19140.
