PW grad Williams named CACC Player of Week

Jefferson University's Alynna Williams (Ambler/Plymouth Whitemarsh) was named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week after she led the Rams with 20 points in their 71-58 victory over Bloomsburg last Saturday.

Williams also collected six rebounds, three assists and three steals as Jefferson won its fourth straight to improve to 10-1. Jessica Kaminski (Philadelph­ia/Archbishop Wood) added 16 points, eight rebounds and an assist for the Rams in the victory with Rachel Day (Horsham/Archbishop Wood) finishing with nine points, 15 rebounds — seven offensive — four assists and two steals.

had six points, five rebounds and

an assist with Caitlyn Cunningham (Dresher/Mount Saint Joseph) had

six points and four rebounds. For Bloomsburg, Lauren Oeth (Doylestown/Germantown Academy) chipped in two points, four rebounds, an assist and a steal. • Chestnut Hill College freshman

Cassie Sebold (Willow Grove/Archbishop Wood) was named CACC Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week after averaging 11 points, three assists and a steal for the Griffins.

Sebold finished with 15 points six assists and two steals last Tuesday as Chestnut Hill topped Mercy College 81-76. Vicky Tumasz (North Wales/North Penn) added 13 points, four assists, three rebounds.

Last Wednesday in the Griffins' 76-53 loss to University of New Haven, Tumasz had 13 points and two steals while Sebold scored seven

points. • Bloomsburg baseball's Cole Swiger (Maple Glen/Upper Dublin) signed to play outfield for the Stanton Braves of the Valley League — a college summer league in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia. As a freshman last season, Swiger played in 46 games for Bloomsburg — starting 45 — and had a .294 batting average, 10 doubles, seven home runs, 34 RBIs and 32 runs.

• Makenzie Mason (Doylestown/ Central Bucks West) had 10 points, nine rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block in the Scranton women's basketball team's 70-59 win over Lebanon Valley Monday.

• Kutztown women's basketball's Taylor Thames (Colmar/ North Penn) found Karen Lapkiewicz (Southampto­n/Saint Basil) for a 3-pointer with 21 seconds left

in overtime to break a 8484 tie as the Golden Bears tops Georgian Court 88-84 last Saturday.

Lapkiewicz paced KU with 18 points to go along with a pair of rebounds. Thames had 12 points, six assists and a steal.

Also for Kutztown, Gabbi Wright (Elkins Park/Cheltenham) finished with 14 points, five rebounds, two steals and a block, Keifonna Ferguson (Norristown/Norristown) had 11 points, eight rebounds, five steals and three assists and Kalee Fuegel (Philadelph­ia/ Saint Basil) chipped in four points, two assists and a steal.

• Arcadia men's basketball's Evan Slone (Souderton/Souderton) finished with 16 points, four rebounds and an assist in the Knights' 72-64 victory over Salisbury last Saturday.

• Bailey Greenberg (North Wales/Archbishop Wood) scored a careerhigh 20 points as the Drexel women's basketball team defeated Saint Joseph's 6558 Sunday.

Greenberg also collected six rebounds, five steals and two assists. Aubree Brown (Philadelph­ia/Archbishop Wood) had 17 points, three

rebounds, two assists and two steals for the Dragons.

• American's Michael Harris (Abington/Abington) had a career-high 17 points and seven rebounds as the Eagles fell to George Washington 61-44 Sunday.

• USciences women's basketball's Laura Trisch (Doylestown/Archbishop Wood) had eight points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals while Mikaela Giuliani (Lansdale/ North Penn) finished with two points, three rebounds, an assists, a steal and a block in the Devils' 64-51 win over St. Rose Sunday.

• Devan Rimmer (Perkasie/Pennridge) paced the Widener women's basketball team with 17 points and also had eight rebounds, three assists and three steals in a 86-68 loss to Rowan last Saturday.

Allison Gallagher (Souderton/Souderton) posted 12 points, four rebounds and four steals for the Pride while Tatiana Pleasant (King of Prussia/Upper Merion) added four points, 12 rebounds — four offensive — three steals and a block.

• Army men's basketball's Tommy Funk (Warrington/Archbishop Wood) tied his career-high with 16 points and also had five assists and two rebounds as the Black Knights topped Air Force 79-54 Sunday at Madison Square Garden.

• Nicole Munger (Doylestown/Central Bucks West) had 13 points, a pair of assists and a block as the Michigan women's basketball team rolled past Fort Wayne 77-45 last Saturday. The victory was the sixth straight for the Wolverines, who are 10-2 overall and are ranked 23rd in the latest Associated Press Top 25.

• Bianca Adams (Elkins Park/Abington Friends) had a game-high 15 points, nine assists, seven rebounds and two steals as the Gwynedd Mercy women's basketball team bested Alvernia 58-39 last Saturday.

Sydney Thompson (Collegevil­le/Methacton) had 11 points, five rebounds and four steals for the Griffins while Susan Bossler (Reading/Pope John Paul II) added five points and four rebounds.

Siena women's basketball's Deja Rawls (Abington/Abington) collected four points, six rebounds, three assists and a steal in the Saints' 62-57 win over Sacred Heart last Saturday.

• Libby Tacka (Blue Bell/ Mount Saint Joseph) finished with three points, three rebounds, three assists, a block and a steal as the Army women's basketball team beat Saint Joseph's Brooklyn 107-46 last Saturday.
