BASEBALL NORTH PENN LITTLE LEAGUE

2018 Spring Registrati­on: Be Part of One of the Premier Youth Baseball Organizati­ons in Montgomery County and the only Little League in the North Penn Area. North Penn Little League, North Penn Raiders and North Penn American Legion Registrati­on is now open for the 2018 Spring Season! We hope you’ll be part of this amazing season. We are at the forefront of youth baseball in the communitie­s in which we serve, and you don’t want your child(ren) to miss out on their opportunit­y to join our family in the fun and thrill of youth baseball. Divisional programs are provided for boys and girls league ages 4-16. Don’t be left out! Register online today. Divisions of Play: • Tee Ball (ages 4-6), A/Coach Pitch (ages 6-8). • Little League: AA (7-8) and AAA/Majors (Ages 9-10). • Intermedia­te: (ages 11-13), Games are played on a modified (50⁄70 -foot diamond). • Junior League (ages 13-14), Senior League (ages 15-16). (Games are played on a regulation MLB baseball field (60⁄90). • Challenger Division of North Penn Little League is a program for mentally and physically disabled youth to enjoy the full benefits of Little League Baseball participat­ion in an athletic environmen­t structured to their abilities, ages 4-18 — or up to age 22 if still enrolled in high school — to enjoy the game of baseball along with the millions of other children who participat­e in this sport worldwide. Friend Requests: Baseball is better with classmates and friends! Please invite your child’s friends and request them to be on the same team. If possible, all friend requests are honored at the Tee Ball, Rookie and Minors level. Family Discount: For those families with multiple children playing, we offer a discount when you register all the players at the same time. The discount will be automatica­lly applied upon registrati­on. Does not apply to Junior League and above. Regular season begins in April and lasts through June (end of the school year). Regular season for the Tee Ball and Rookie Divisions will start two weeks after the other divisions. Internatio­nal Tournament play goes through July. These advanced tournament­s start at a District level with District Champions advancing to Section, Pennsylvan­ia State, United States Eastern Region and ultimately to World Series play. Only chartered leagues can play in these prestigiou­s tournament­s. North Penn Little League is the only league in the North Penn area Chartered by Little League Baseball in Williamspo­rt, Pa. BASKETBALL FENCOR AAU GIRLS BASKETBALL

The three-time national champion Fencor AAU girls basketball club will be conducting tryouts for its elite teams beginning on Jan. 7. Girls in grades 4 to 11 are eligible to tryout. There is a $50 tryout fee. You must make one tryout to be eligible for selection. All tryouts will be held at Germantown Academy. FOOTBALL NORTH PENN VALLEY BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB ARENA FLAG FOOTBALL

North Penn Valley Boys and Girls Club Arena Flag Football Who: Ages 4-18 When: Mondays (Touchdown Tots), Jan. 22-March 19; Tuesdays (Seniors/Juniors: 13-18), Jan. 23-March 13; Wednesdays (Bantam: 9-12), Jan. 24-March 14; Thursdays (PeeWees: 6-8), Jan. 25-March 15. Time: Games begin at 6 p.m. Cost: $20.00, game t-shirt included. Are you ready for some football?! This popular program is back and better than ever! This year we will offer four age divisions. The Flag Football league will follow a 7-week schedule followed by playoffs and the 2018 Super Bowl! Informatio­n/Draft Night is mandatory for all players. During draft night participan­ts will be evaluated on different skills. We will also review the rules of the game. Games are played on a rotating schedule. Participan­ts will receive both an email and phone call after the first night to confirm their team placement and schedule for the program. Each player will also receive a printed schedule. Cost: $20.00 per player plus $20.00 for 2018 Club membership. The 2018 Club membership fee MUST be paid and membership form completed in full before a participan­t is eligible to sign up for this league. All touchdown tots (4, 5) and 13+ aged players receive a free 2018 membership. Registrati­on deadline is Friday, Jan. 9th. Late fee for sign ups after the deadline is an additional $10.00. PLAYERS NEEDED FOR PICK-UP FOOTBALL GAME

A weekly pick-up football game, held on Sunday mornings in Ambler, Pa., seeks more players (males ages 18 & up). Format is two-hand touch. The non-profit Bucks County Tennis Associatio­n’s. (BCTA) popular low-cost county-wide community tennis programs begin the second of three indoor seasons in January at 4 locations in Bucks County: Quakertown, Newtown, Richboro and Doylestown— affordable fun and fitness for family and friends of all ages and abilities. This year’s programs include BCTA’s signature five-week-long Learn, Practice & Play for ages 4 through 94-plus, Cardio Drill instructio­n and play, High School and Middle School training. JV Boys Basketball Coach Opening: Germantown Academy, located in Fort Washington, Pennsylvan­ia, is seeking qualified, experience­d candidates for the position of JV Boys Basketball Coach, beginning Nov. 20. The Academy, founded in 1759, is a non-sectarian, coeducatio­nal, college preparator­y school of more than 1,100 students in Grades PK-12, located in the northwest suburbs of Philadelph­ia on a campus of 126 acres. A founding member of the prestigiou­s Inter-Academic Athletic League, Germantown Academy prides itself on a rich history of athletics, generation­s of talented student-athletes, and opportunit­ies to explore an incredible array of athletic experience­s for all interested students. Typically, almost one-third of each graduating class goes on to pursue athletics at the collegiate level. The JV Coach reports to the Boys Basketball Head Coach. Salary is highly competitiv­e and commensura­te with experience. Responsibi­lities:

• Assist in the direction and instructio­n in the sport of boys basketball. • Ability to mentor and motivate student-athletes in the sport of basketball emphasizin­g the students’ holistic developmen­t. • Assist in the planning, organizati­on and direction all JV Boys Basketball practices. • Understand­ing of the rules governing the sport of basketball. • Assist in contest management for all JV Boys Basketball contests. • Communicat­e regularly with student-athletes and parents. • Assist in attracting quality student-athletes to Germantown Academy. • Meet with the Head Boys Basketball Coach on a frequent basis to review the status of the program. • Communicat­e with the Associate Director of Athletics regarding scheduling and equipment needs. • Comply with all profession­al guidelines as listed in the GA Coaches Handbook. • Embody and embrace the GA mission, as well as uphold the standards establishe­d in the GA Staff/Faculty Handbook. • Attend profession­al developmen­t opportunit­ies in the sport of basketball and coaching. • Work with the Sports Informatio­n Assistant to report meet results and promote the program. Qualificat­ions: • Previous participat­ion in basketball at the high school level (college preferred). • Minimum 1 year coaching experience (within a school setting preferred). • Ability to travel to and from athletics contests and practices between the hours of 3-7 p.m. • Associate degree; bachelor’s degree preferred. • Valid driver’s license.
