Teens adjudicated in juvenile court
Three will be sent to separate secure placement facilities; no decision yet on whether fourth teen will be tried as adult or juvenile
BUCKS COUNTY COURTHOUSE » Three teens whose cases were returned to juvenile court after initially being charged as adults in the October 2016 fatal shooting at a Perkasie park have been adjudicated. Two of the three, however, still face another hearing on homicide charges in the case.
Carson Kimnach, Christopher Pavack and Noah Strickland were each sentenced to secure placement facilities in the juvenile court system following the Dec. 18 ruling by Bucks County President Judge Jeffrey Finley, Bucks County Deputy District Attorney Marc Furber said.
“They’re each in different facilities,” Furber said.
They will remain under court supervision until they turn 21, he said.
“Every six months, the court will review their status,” he said.
Pavack and Strickland were adjudicated on robbery, carrying firearms without a license, possession of instruments of crime and criminal conspiracy charges, Furber said. Another hearing at an as-yet unscheduled time will be held for the two on the homicide charges, he said. His office will argue the two are guilty of second-degree murder by their involvement in the crimes, he said.
Kimnach was adjudicated on robbery, carrying firearms without a license and criminal conspiracy charges and will not face homicide charges, Furber said.
A fourth teen, Harrison Moss, was also charged in the case. Hearings are still being held on whether his case should be sent back to juvenile court or he should be tried as an adult.
Iziah Ramon-Lewis, 19, was shot and killed Oct. 29, 2016, at Kulp Memorial Park after the other four teens plotted to rob a
drug dealer, investigators alleged in court documents.
Kimnach, then 17, of Hilltown, drove the other three to the park, where they walked into the park and met Ramon-Lewis and his girlfriend, who arrived in a vehicle,
police said. Moss, then 15, of Wyncote, and Pavack, then 16, of Perkasie, had handguns taken from Strickland’s home, investigators said. The two brandished the guns at Ramon-Lewis, who drove away, then stopped and approached Strickland, Pavack and Moss, investigators said. Strickland, then 16, of Perkasie, fled on foot and Pavack fired a shot a
shot in the air, police said. As Ramon-Lewis continued towards Moss and Pavack, Moss shot Ramon-Lewis in the chest from 10 to 15 feet away, investigators said.
Kimnach fled the area after hearing the gunshots, investigators said.
Ramon-Lewis was a 2016 Pennridge High School graduate and a member of the school’s football team.
