August Alexander Trupp, Jr., 73, of Harleysvil­le, passed away peacefully with his wife at his side on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 in the Birches at Arbor Square.

He was the devoted husband of Carolyn (Bright) Trupp, with whom he shared 44 years of marriage.

Born in Philadelph­ia in 1944, he was the son of the late Laura (Eckstein) & August A. Trupp, Sr.

Alex was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Vietnam era. Following his service, he was employed with Amchem Products in Ambler, PA as a systems engineer for 26 years.

Outside of work, Alex enjoyed traveling and was active in Scouting, where he attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He was also a very active member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Ambler.

In addition to his wife, Carolyn, Alex is survived by his cousins, Joanne Yutzler, Caroline Heizmann and Kristina Reed.

Relatives and friends will be received by his family after 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 13 in St. John’s Lutheran Church, 24 N. Ridge Avenue, Ambler, and are invited to attend his memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Inurnment was held privately in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler.

In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons in memory of Alex may be made to Seasons Hospice, 700 S Henderson Rd., Suite 225, King of Prussia, PA 19406.
