Karel K. Wilkins of Lansdale.

Karel K. Wilkins, 79, of Lansdale, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018 surrounded by her family.

She was the beloved wife of the late Donald M. Wilkins, who died in 2001.

Born in Gwinn, Michigan in 1938, she was a daughter of the late Harry & Grace (Way) Knudsen.

Karel was a very active member of Gwynedd Square Presbyteri­an Church in Lansdale and also played flute for the Southeaste­rn Pennsylvan­ia Symphony Orchestra. She was a volunteer for the former North Penn Hospital and was a member of the Lansdale Women’s Club. Karel also enjoyed traveling, reading – especially Science Fiction and Fantasy, and taking family vacations to Ocean City, NJ.

Surviving Karel are her children, Karin Wilkins (Paul Rubin), of Austin, TX and Michael Wilkins (Kathleen), of Warrington; her grandchild­ren, Alex & Katherine Siegenthal­er, and Jackson, Isabelle & Colin Wilkins; and her brother, Alan Knudsen (Joyce).

Relatives and friends will be received on Thursday, January 11 after 10:00 a.m. in Gwynedd Square Presbyteri­an Church, 837 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale, PA 19446, and are invited to attend her memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons in memory of Karel may be made to her church at the address above, or to the Southeaste­rn Pennsylvan­ia Symphony Orchestra at P.O. Box 694, Lansdale, PA 19446.
