Renee Miller of Spring City

-

Renee Miller, age 34, of Spring City, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after complications surrounding Ewing’s sarcoma cancer on January 11, 2018. She was the beloved wife of Anthony Miller, with whom she shared almost six years of marriage.

Born January 10, 1984, she was the oldest daughter of Dennis and Sharon (Moyer) Gehman.

Renee’s passions of learning, music, writing, children, Christian education, and family all led to the various activities that occupied her life’s time. She grew up attending Salford Mennonite Church in Harleysville, where many of these passions were fostered. She went to Gordon College in Wenham, MA, and studied music and English language & literature. After college she went on to serve a year with the Mennonite Central Committee in Hanoi, Vietnam, then came home to study for her ESL teaching certification. By now, she had moved on to Vincent Mennonite Church in Spring City after marrying Anthony in 2011.

Renee taught English as a second language for several years for the Souderton School District before taking maternity leave, eventually becoming sick, and thus began her life as a fulltime stay-at-home-mom and cancer patient. It was during this time that she drew nearer to God than ever and experienced the love of God like never before through the outpouring of love and support from the community who pulled together to help her through.

In addition to her husband and parents, Renee is survived by her darling 4-year-old son, Jonas Michael; her sister, Kelly Smith and husband Andrew, niece Brooke Renee (6), grandfather Harold Moyer, fatherin-law and mother-in-law Peter and Luann Miller, brother-in-law Clint Miller and wife Brooke, niece Lydia (3), nephew Samuel (1), brother-in-law Eric Miller, and grandmotherin-law Eunice Miller.

Renee was preceded in death by her brother, Michael (9) in 1991, and grandparents Marvin and Mabel Gehman, Gladys Moyer, and Floyd Miller.

Memorial service will be held at Salford Mennonite Church, 480 Groffs Mill Rd., Harleysville, PA 19438. Visitation will be held Friday January 19 from 7pm to 8:30pm. Saturday visitation will be held 9am to 10:30. Memorial service will start at 10:30.

Memorial gifts may be made in Renee’s memory for her son, Jonas Miller to 135 Bridge Street, Spring City, PA 19475.
