Licia Butera of Hatfield; Judith A. Trumpp of Lansdale

Judith A. Trumpp, 51, of Lansdale, died Thursday, February 15, 2018. She was the beloved wife of Drew Trumpp, her husband of 28 years.

Born August 1, 1966 in Staten Island, she was a daughter of Rodger and Karen (Fogh) Brown, of New Britain, PA.

Love for others and dedication to family was the core and passion of Judi’s life. This love and dedication was demonstrated to her by her parents, aunts, uncles, and extended family. Coupled with a strong faith in God, she ensured that this love was passed onto the next generation of children, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Not one to seek the limelight, when it came to family, friends, patients, Scouts, pets, and strangers, Judi always made time to help others and share her love and talents.

She organized family vacations and trips for other families as well. Disney World, the Adirondacks, and ski slopes were popular destinations.

Her hands made many precious memories that were as diverse as they were treasured: needlepoint, felted animals and pictures, bullet journals, quilts, clothing, scrapbooks, pot holders, and more.

As a Registered Nurse in labor and delivery, she cared for many women and babies over her long career. She often sought out challenging patients she knew would benefit from her kind, loving, and patient bedside manner. In addition, she was an example for her fellow nurses as a teacher, mentor, and charge nurse, always the consummate professional in the operating room and the delivery room.

Judi was a Troop Leader who challenged and inspired a group of young women who benefited from her grace and kindness. She created a program of friendship, outdoor skills, travel, and fun that molded her

Girl Scouts into successful young women. These women think of her as a confidant, friend, and second mother. She lived to see her daughter and sons reach the pinnacle of Scouting. Kelsey earned the Gold

Award, and Daniel and Jacob became Eagle Scouts.

She was president of diving for the Towamencin Swim and Dive Team, and a constant supporter of her son Jacob who was a diver. She still made time to attend every swim meet for her son Daniel. Whether it was summer league, high school, or US Swimming and Diving, Judi’s preferred place was poolside cheering for her sons while taking pictures and videos.

She will be forever missed by her beloved dog Cosmo, always by her side but most often on her lap, a constant companion and true friend.

Her light will live on in all that knew her, and while words can never fully express what Judi has meant to others, some have used these words: wife, mom, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, friend, mentor, counselor, angel, co-worker, nurse, positive force, blessing, kind heart, travel planner, quilt maker, coach, advocate, nature lover, movie watcher, board game enthusiast, photographer, and lover of music.

In addition to her husband, Judi is survived by her children, Kelsey Trumpp, Daniel Trumpp, and Jacob Trumpp, all of Lansdale; siblings, Rodger Brown (Christine) of Virginia Beach, VA, and Jill Wenzel (Arthur “Chip”) of Hatfield; and seven nieces and nephews, Trish, Ryan, Jessica, Shannan, Meghan, Matthew, and Erin.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Howard and Marion Fogh; paternal grandparents, Margaret and Willis Brown; in-laws, Albert and Erna Trumpp; and aunt, Judy Fogh.

Relatives and friends may call between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale. A second visitation will be held between 10:30 and 11:45 a.m. Friday, February 23 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1000 W. Main St., Lansdale, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 12 Noon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donating to the Trumpp Family Education Fund c/o Thrivent Financial, which was created to support one of Judi’s biggest passions – the fulfillment of her children’s dreams through college education.

Arrangements entrusted to the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
