A Lansdale man has been arrested and faces charges for robbery, assault and theft after an altercation on Green Street in Lansdale last month.

Hans Flegeal, 18, of the 200 block of Green Street was arrested Wednesday and faces numerous charges after an alleged strong-arm robbery on Feb. 19, according to Lansdale Police.

According to police and court documents, officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Green Street around 8:45 p.m. on Feb. 19 for a report of a robbery. After arriving, a male said he had been walking home on the Green Street when two men, one later identified as Flegeal, tried to rob him.

The victim told police that Flegeal started talking to him while standing behind a large bush on the corner of Green Street and Lincoln Avenue, and as the two were talking, a second man came from across Green Street and punched the victim in the head.

After being knocked to the ground, the victim was punched and kicked in his head, face and body. The victim said the two suspects took his jacket and a dark brown leather satchel and tried to take a cellphone from his hand but were

unsuccessful. The two suspects ran toward the 200 block of Green Street, the victim said, and police said the victim described both suspects as white males with thin builds and possibly in their late teens.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Abington Hospital - Lansdale campus and treated for contusions on his head, neck, back and ribs and a cut on his lip, according to police.

While investigating the incident, police said, officers tried to make contact with Flegeal, who had been known to police through investigation of more than 15

complaints at an address on the 200 block of Green Street throughout the past two years. Based on the description from the victim, officers tried to make contact with Flegeal at that address, but received no response, and while trying to contact Flegeal, police noticed a smell of marijuana coming from inside, and heard two male voices talking to each other inside.

A detective then met with the victim, who told police the stolen satchel had contained roughly $100, medical and health documents, business cards, earbud headphones, and various gift cards. The victim then identified Flegeal from a photo array, according to police.

A search warrant was

then executed on Feb. 20 for a house on the 200 block of Green Street, and police found the house unoccupied, with no running water and damage and signs of marijuana use throughout. Investigation revealed that the house had been owned by a relative of Flegeal, who had defaulted on a mortgage in July 2017 and the bank had foreclosed on the house. After talking to neighbors, police learned that other family members had moved out of the house in early February, but Hans Flegeal was seen on the front porch roughly three hours before the robbery on Feb. 19.

Flegeal was subsequently arrested by police on Feb. 28 on the 500 block of North Broad Street, and

war arraigned before District Judge Ed Levine of Lansdale. Bail was set at $50,000 and Flegeal was remanded to Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of paying, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for March 21. Charges against him include four felony counts of robbery, inflicting bodily injury, and conspiracy, while he also faces a total of 10 misdemeanor charges including assault, theft, receiving stolen property and disorderly conduct.
