Lettie J. Tracy, 84, of Lansdale, died Friday, March 9, 2018. She was the beloved wife of the late George W. Tracy, her husband of 58 years, who died June 6, 2015.

Born March 29, 1933 in St. George, SC, she was the daughter of the late Addison McCoy and Arletta (Bransford) Johnston.

Lettie graduated from St. George High School with the Class of 1950 and earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the Medical College of South Carolina and the University of South Carolina in 1956.

She began her nursing career in 1956 as Head Nurse of Jefferson Hospital. She later taught Practical Nursing as the Medical/Surgical Supervisor of the Sacred Heart Hospital School of Practical Nursing in Norristown. Later, Lettie was employed as a school nurse in the Plymouth Conshohock­en School District until transferri­ng to North Penn School District, retiring in 1998.

Lettie served as Past President of her college nursing club, Past President of the Lansdale Jaycettes, Past Secretary and President of the Lansdale Women’s Club, and Past Worthy Matron of Priscilla Chapter #64, Order of the Eastern Star.

Her pleasures included her yard and home, traveling, sailing the Chesapeake Bay, the beach, especially Cape May and the Carolinas, bridge (cards), and the love of her family, especially her great-grandson and beloved dog, Maggie.

Survivors include her children, G. Windsor Tracy, Jr. (Laura Earussi Tracy) of Lansdale, Patricia A. Tracy of Princeton, NJ, and Priscilla E. Tracy Skorny (John) of Lansdale; two granddaugh­ters, Tracy and Allison Wert; and her greatgrand­son, Dominic Anthony Wert.

She was preceded in death by her brother, A. McCoy Johnston, Jr.; his children, Martha Nelle Johnston and Addison McCoy Johnston; and her brothersin-law, Benjamin Jay Tracy, Jr., MD and Daniel William Tracy.

Relatives and friends may call between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave, with the Eastern Star Funeral Rite at 7:45 p.m. A second visitation will be held between 9:30 and 10:45 a.m. Friday, March 16 at Church of the Messiah, 1001 Dekalb Pike, Lower Gwynedd, PA 19002 followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens.
