- 1939-2018

Jean K. Gould, 79, of Richland, PA, passed away at home on Monday, March 12, 2018, her 79th birthday. She was the loving wife of Dennis Gould and daughter of the late Adam J. and Clara M. Strong.

Jean was born in Philadelph­ia, PA on March 12, 1939. She graduated from West Chester State Teachers College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education.

Jean was a lifelong educator and held many positions throughout her career. She was a Kindergart­en Teacher at Pennypacke­r Elementary School in Hatboro, PA, the Director of St. Paul Childcare Center in Pennsburg, PA, a Teaching Assistant at Western Montco VoTech in Limerick, PA, and a liaison at the Early Childhood Education Center and the Salvation Army in Pottstown, PA.

Jean was an avid lover of Choral Music. She sang with the Village Singers of Fairview Village, PA, Upper Perkiomen Choral Arts Society, and served as President of the Bel Canto Children’s Choir in Pennsburg.

Jean directed the Children’s Choir at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Pottstown, PA and was a member of the choir at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Bally, PA.

Most recently, Jean was involved with the Food Bank and Benevolent Society of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church in Ephrata, PA.

Jean enjoyed her Vespa, camping, and her kayak.

In addition to her husband, Dennis, she is survived by five children: Jessica L., wife of Antoine Eustache of Henderson, NV, Nicholas P. Gould of Bernville, PA, Colleen V., wife of Forest Webb of Spring Grove, PA, Alexander N. Gould, husband of Jennifer, of Meridian, MS, and Jeannette D., wife of Leonardo Munar of Westboroug­h, MA; 13 grandchild­ren; and one brother, Robert T. Strong, husband of Kathleen, of Southampto­n, PA.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her sister, Claire M. Strong.

Friends will be received at Gravenor Home For Funerals, 100 W. Main St., Ephrata, PA 17522 on Thursday, March 15th from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church, 320 Church Ave., Ephrata, PA 17522.
