Sarah Joann Svane, 84, of Harleysville

Sarah “Sally” Joann Svane, age 84, of Harleysville, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 12, 2018 at Grand View Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence Svane and the late Edward LaGuardia.

Born September 10, 1933 in Sedalia Missouri, she was a daughter of the late Russell Paul and Dorthea “Dot” (Kaler) Dowdy.

Sally had an extended career in the medical field. She was a classical pianist, an avid reader, the librarian and secretary of the residence association at Arbour Square.

She is survived by her devoted children Diane Smith and her husband Edward, Elaine Muraresku and her husband Charles, Linda Molloy and her husband Edward, Edward LaGuardia and his wife Germaine, Steven LaGuardia and his wife Kim, David LaGuardia and his wife Emily. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, her brother Lawrence Dowdy and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her great grandson Francis David Pennings and her brothers Robert and Franklin C. Dowdy.

Family and friends are invited to attend her memorial service at 11 AM on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Immanuel Leidy’s Church, 273, West Cherry Lane, Souderton, PA 18964, where the family will greet guests from 10:00 – 10:45 AM. Interment will be private.
