Joseph J. Mager Sr. of Lansdale; Margaret H. Weaver of Harleysville.
Joseph J. Mager Sr. passed away peacefully on Monday, April 9, 2018 at his residence in Lansdale, PA. He was 90.
Mr. Mager was a former resident of Swedeland, PA. He was a graduate of Upper Merion High School, Class of 1946. Joseph was a member of Corpus Christi Church in Lansdale, PA and a former member of Our Mother of Sorrows Church in Bridgeport, PA.
He worked as a Police Officer for Upper Merion Township for many years. He was a member of the Frank C. Parker, Jr. American Legion Post #901 in Jeffersonville, PA and the FOP Lodge #14 in Montgomery County. Joseph served with the Merchant Marines, during WW II and the Korean Conflict.
Born in Swedeland, PA on January 6, 1928, he was a son of the late John and Anna (Sotak) Magor. He was the husband of the late Doris M. (Sabo) Mager, who died in 2014. Surviving is his loving family including a son, Joseph J. Mager Jr. and his wife, Laura, of Valley Forge, PA; a daughter, Pamela A. Fulton-Mager and her husband, David, of Egg Harbor Twp., NJ; three grandchildren: Elizabeth Ann Mager, David Mager and David Dylan Fulton and his companion, Breanna Eads; a great-grandson, Nash Fulton; a brother, Michael Mager and his wife, Margaret, of Audubon, PA; and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and George Major; and a sister, Anna Hackett.
Relatives & friends are invited to Joseph’s Funeral Mass at Corpus Christi Church, 900 Sumneytown Pk., Lansdale, PA on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 10:00 am. His viewing will be on Saturday from 9:00 to 9:45 am, at the church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, W. Conshohocken, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joseph’s memory to the Piarist School, PO Box 369, Ager Hill, KY 41222.
