David E. Gehres of Telford; The Rev. Mr. Edward Konarski Sr.

David E. Gehres, 79, of Telford, PA went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 16, 2018.

He was the husband for 57 years to his wife, Dotty, and father to his beloved daughters, Deborah Wolfe (David) of Hatfield, PA, and Diane Ash (Charlie) of Egg Harbor Township, NJ. His favorite role was being grandfathe­r to his four grandchild­ren, Stephanie Wolfe of Hatfield, PA, Daniel Wolfe of Quakertown, PA, Noelle Ash and Lindsey Ash of Egg Harbor Township, NJ.

He was born in Van Wert, Ohio, and was the son of the Reverend Durward and Pearl Gehres. In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by a sister Ruth of Ann Arbor, MI and a brother John (Joyce) of Bowling Green, OH and two nieces and a nephew, Amy Ludwig, Gregory Gehres and Julie Burton.

He graduated from Blue Creek High School of Latty, Ohio, and received a B.S. in Education from Taylor University of Upland, IN. His graduate work was done at Temple University.

After 6 years teaching middle school social studies in Quakertown School District, the remaining 27 years of his career was spent teaching in Central Bucks School District. Upon his retirement, he had a second career as a school bus driver and a certified driver trainer for Transporta­tion Services Incorporat­ed of Souderton, owned by his good friends Don and Linda Hagey.

He was a member of Calvary Church of Souderton, where he had served as a trustee, deacon, elder, usher and was a member of the benevolent team.

He loved music, especially singing. He was a member of the Taylor University acapella choir and traveling choir, as well as three church choirs, and Zion Choral Society. He enjoyed camping, traveling in the United States and abroad, and loved going to his grandchild­ren’s school and athletic activities.

Visitation with the family will be held on Tues. April 24 from 6-8 PM at Lutheran Community at Telford Chapel, 12 Lutheran Home Drive, Telford 18969 and again on Wed. April 25 from 10-11:15 AM at Calvary Church, 820 Rt. 113, Souderton 18964, where a memorial service will follow at 11:30 AM. Interment will be held in Calvary Church Cemetery at 9 AM on Wed. April 25.
