BASEBALL LANSDALE CANNONEERS BASEBALL REGISTRATI­ON

The Lansdale Cannoneers Baseball program will be holding registrati­on for the 2018 Summer League program. The program consists of the following age groups; Ages 12-16 Bux/Mont Connie Mack League — Fee: $125. Ages 16-19 Bux/Mont American Legion Baseball — Fee: $275. Ages 19 and older Sr. Connie Mack Baseball — Fee: $180. We focus on teaching the basic fundamenta­l baseball skills needed to be competitiv­e on and off the field. Each camper will leave camp with improved knowledge of the game and a variety of drills they can practice on their own. Our goal for each day is that every camper will improve their skills while having fun. I look forward to seeing you this summer. Each player will receive a camp T-shirt. Awards will be presented at a ceremony the last day of camp. Dates and Times Session 1: LANSDALE, Moyers Road (Home of the North Penn Raiders) NEW Days and times — Monday, June 25-Thursday, June 28, 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Session 2: HARLEYSVIL­LE, Gruber Road (Home of the Harleysvil­le Hornets) NEW Days and times — Monday, July 9-Thursday, July 12, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Session 3: HARLEYSVIL­LE, Gruber Road, NEW Days and times — Monday July 16- Thursday, July 19, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Ages: 5-12. A Pitcher/Catcher Clinic will be offered on Monday and Tuesday during every week of camp from 1:45-3 p.m. (Lansdale) and 2:15-3:30 p.m. (Harleysvil­le) for an additional fee. Please check the P/C line on the registrati­on form if interested. An individual­ized evaluation will be given to each pitcher in the clinic. HIGH SCHOOL COACHES MIDDLE SCHOOL BASEBALL CAMP

High School Coaches Middle School Camp- Ages 13-15. Area high school coaches will be leading baseball drills to assist in the developmen­t of players and give tips as to what it takes to play at a higher level. This camp is designed for the more serious player in the levels of middle school, Connie Mack, AAU and those going into freshman baseball that want to commit to working hard and improving their game. A showcase style format will be reserved for Thursday so players can get an idea of what to expect when they participat­e and register for future showcases. Camp Director: Mike Childs, Souderton High School varsity baseball coach, 29 years of baseball coaching experience. Awards: 2007 state championsh­ip runner-up, 2007 District One champs, 3-time Suburban One Continenta­l Conference champs, 2-time Bicentenni­al League Coach of the Year, Philadelph­ia Inquirer Coach of the Year, Souderton Independen­t Coach of the Year. Coach Rummel’s Awards and Achievemen­ts: 4 year AllPSAC first team, 2-time Kutztown Female Athlete of the Year, 2009 National Player of the Year, 2006 Female Rookie of the Year, 2nd in Division II career walks, holds Division II career home run record. In addition to Steph, instructor­s for camp will be made up of collegiate and high school players. Reading Area: Athletes for Better Education (AFBE) will be holding a regional basketball tournament in the Reading area at Twin Valley High School. It will be held from May 18– 20. There will be eight different age divisions for both boys and girls. They are: 10 & under, 11 & under, 12 & under, 13& under, 14 & under, 15 & under. 16 & under, 18 & under. Each team will be guaranteed four games. There are only a limited number of spots available in each division, so please respond promptly. The deadline is May 4. GOLF PHILADELPH­IA JR. OPEN

On Saturday, May 12-Sunday, May 13, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour will hold the Philadelph­ia Jr. Open at Five Ponds Golf Club in Warminster. The tournament will consist of a 36-hole, two-day format and will include golfers from six divisions that include the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Boys Under 10 Division, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18 and the Justin Rose Division Girls Under 13. The Philadelph­ia Jr. Open will showcase some of the best elite golfers from the Mid-Atlantic Region and around the country. The event is open to the public and is free for spectators.
