UD girls, Wissahicko­n boys win titles

TITLES FOR UD, WISS » The Wissahicko­n boys defended their Suburban One League American Conference title and Upper Dublin emerged as the girls team champion as Day Two of the event wrapped up Saturday at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School.

Madison Langley-Walker led the way for the Cardinals. She won the 100 hurdles (14.39), long jump (189) and triple jump (38-02), helping Upper Dublin win the competitio­n with 189.50 points.

Defending Champion Cheltenham took second with 158 and Wissahicko­n came in fourth place. Host PW came in seventh place, anchored by a winning 300 hurdles race from Taylor O’Brien.

It was a balanced effort for Wissahicko­n that brought home the title. Ben Hoyer (1,600, 4:27.29), Matt Maiale (3,200, 9:48.17), Liam Davies (110 hurdles, 15.05), Noah Kilsaw (pole vault, 11-06) and Ahmir Johnson (triple jump, 4303.50) all won gold for the Trojans.

Wissahicko­n finished with 186 points, while Quakertown was second with 166 and Upper Dublin finished third with 98 points. Michael Henning led the way for the Cardinals with winning performanc­es in the 200 (22.45) and 400 (49.01). Suburban One League
