Sarah Jeane Fretz of Souderton
Sarah Jeane (Stutzman) Fretz, 86, of Souderton, formerly of Harleysville, PA, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Souderton Mennonite Homes.
She was the loving wife of the late Clyde Y. Fretz. Jeane was born in Upper Salford Twp., PA to the late James and Edith (Gross) Stutzman. Jeane attended Eastern Mennonite College for two years. Throughout her working lifetime, she was employed at Provident Bookstore, Souderton for forty four years.
An avid reader, Jeane enjoyed flowers, gardening and international travel. Devoted to her Christian faith, she was a member of the Methacton Mennonite Church and attended the Blooming Glen Mennonite Church.
After her retirement, Jeane volunteered for the Souderton Care and Share Thrift Shops, Mennonite Heritage Center, Harleysville and Living Branches Gift Shops.
She is survived by a stepson, David Clyde (Mary) Fretz of Mount Joy, PA; two step grandchildren, Abby and Christopher. two brothers, Kenneth (Marlene) Stutzman of Kutztown, PA and Merle (Lorraine) Stutzman of Fleetwood, PA; a sister, Lorraine (Ben) Myers of Mechanicsburg, PA; a brother-in-law, Samuel Horst of Harrisonburg, VA; three Sistersin-law, Naomi Stutzman of Mertztown, PA, Gladys (Daniel) Kolb of New Holland, PA and Elaine (Merril) Derstine of Telford, PA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband Clyde, she was preceded in death by a toddler, Mildred Stutzman, her sister, Mary Ellen Horst; four brothers, James, Jr., Marlowe, Donald and Dale Stutzman.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Souderton Mennonite Summit View Auditorium, 207 W. Summit Street, Souderton, PA from 2:30 to 3:30 pm. A memorial service will follow at 3:30 pm. Inurnment took place at the Blooming Glen Mennonite Cemetery.
