Police: Wanted man arrested
Luis Alczazar-Peralta, of Elroy Road, charge with May 5 assault
Hatfield police have announced the arrest of a resident of Elroy Road wanted in connection with an aggravated assault incident in early May.
Luis Alcazar-Peralta, 36, of the 2600 block of Elroy Road, was apprehended on Thursday by the U.S. Marshals Services in Michigan, and will be extradited back to Montgomery County to face a lengthy list of charges, police said Friday.
Hatfield Police obtained an arrest warrant for Alcazar-Peralta on May 5, after officers responded to that block for a report of a domestic disturbance. Police said an investigation determined that Alcazar-Peralta had physically assaulted his girlfriend, and during the course of the assault, he had doused the victim in lighter fluid and stood within feet of her with an open flame, saying he wanted to kill her.
Police said Alcazar-Peralta fled prior to police arriving at the scene, and the victim received medical treatment and is no longer hospitalized.
Charges were filed on May 6 against AlcazarPeralta including a felony count of aggravated assault, and misdemeanor charges including unlawful restraint, false impris- onment, simple assault, possessing an instrument of crime, recklessly endangering another person, and making terroristic threats.
Staff at the office of District Judge Ed Levine in Lansdale, where the charges were filed, had no additional information available on the case as of Friday afternoon.
