Barbara E. Raifsnider of Souderton

Barbara E. Raifsnider, a resident of Souderton, PA peacefully passed away while in Hospice Care at Grand View Hospital, Wednesday June 6, 2018. She was 80.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Carl A. Rilling and Elizabeth (Young) Rilling and wife of the late W. Hoover “Herb” Raifsnider. Barbara was the beloved mother of Wendy Raifsnider, Tracey (Raifsnider) Crisler (John), Mark Raifsnider (Gwen) and sister of Dr. David Rilling (Karina) of Sellersville, PA. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Barbara is a graduate of Penn State University where she earned her teaching degree. She spent most of her career as an educator, teaching second grade in the East Lycoming School District in Hughesville, Pennsylvania. After moving from Hughesville to Chalfont, PA, she began a second career in business. Her experience working with personal computers as they became mainstream opened the door to a teaching career in computer software training. She quickly became a “go to” knowledgeable resource with friends and family for computer related questions.

She was an avid Penn State Football fan and a season ticket holder for nearly 50 years following her husband’s football playing career at PSU. She also loved playing Bridge and Pinochle with her friends, swimming, sports, music, playing the piano and spending time with her family.

Friends and family are invited to attend her Funeral Service, 11 AM, Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Jarrettown United Methodist Church, 1460 Limekiln Pike, Dresher, PA where the viewing will begin at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Beulah Cemetery.
