Basketball camp
Bethany Bible Fellowship Church: A Push the Rock Boys Summer Basketball Camp is being held daily from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 23-27. Cost is $155 per child. There is a $10 discount for each additional family member who attends camp. A limited number of scholarships is also available for families with special needs or circumstances. Christ Covenant Church: During June the church at 2200 Mainland Road, Towamencin, will be supporting Manna on Main Street with donations of non-perishable goods. Items especially needed in restocking their pantry are: canned meat (chicken, Spam, ham); tomato, bean and vegetable soups and clam chowder; canned asparagus and spinach; olives; canned mushrooms; cleaning supplies (Windex, Soft Scrub, Pine Sol, etc.); spices and condiments; diapers; baby wipes; toilet paper; tissues; paper towels; laundry detergent; deodorant; shower gel; feminine care products; shampoo; lip balm; lotions; Vaseline; cereal; pancake mix; dried fruit; canned fruit; all beans; peanut butter and jelly; tomato sauce; pasta; rice; canned vegetables (not green beans or corn); condiments; special dietary nonperishables like gluten-free and nut-free, low-sodium/ sugar and heart healthy products. Performing on marimba will be Aaron Trumbore, accompanied on piano by Seth Trumbore, both of Harleysville. Aaron Trumbore is a percussionist, teacher, composer and percussion artifact business owner. He earned his bachelor’s degree in music from West Chester University and a master’s of music performance from Temple University. He has performed with Symphony C, Opera Philadelphia, The Curtis Institute Symphony Orchestra, as well as at the McCormick Marimba Festival in Florida and the Percussive Arts Society’s international conventions in Austin, TX and Indianapolis, Ind. Seth Trumbore, who serves as assistant organist at Holy Spirit Church and staff pianist at Westminster Choir College, earned his bachelor’s degree in piano performance and pedagogy from Temple University, received chamber music training at the Settlement Music School and is a certified Suzuki instructor. TMIY is a program for men organized around a central theme, and presented through the lens of seven steps. Each morning session has three components: a social gathering over breakfast refreshments, a 30-minute DVD presentation and opportunity for discussion.
