Harold Leon Nase of Souderton

Harold Leon Nase, 92, of Souderton, passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Souderton Mennonite Home. He was the husband of Jane (Nyce) Nase, with whom he shared 71 years of marriage.

Born November 25, 1925 in Quakertown, he was the son of the late Harold and Sara (Umstead) Nase. Harold was a 1944 graduate of Souderton High School and served in the United States Naval Air Force. He spent his career as drafting supervisor for Frank M. Weaver Company, Lansdale, for 30 years.

Harold was a member of Souderton Rotary Club, American Legion, and Zwingli United Church of Christ, where he was a member of the choir and served on church council. In his younger years, he dearly loved his horses and riding them with his children. As time went on, being part of his biking group was a great joy in his life. He was a gifted builder and was never too busy to help his children, and grandchildren throughout the years. He enjoyed golf, time with friends, family, and above all, spending time with his beloved wife, Jane.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Kathleen J. Moyer and her husband Robert D., Ottsville, Robert S. Nase, and his wife Patricia, Reading, and Nancy N. VanDerbeek, Telford, 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister Claire Hontz Stanley, son-in-law David VanDerbeek, and grandson William (Bill) VanDerbeek.

A Memorial Service will be held at 6 PM on Wed. June 27 at Zwingli U.C.C., 350 Wile Ave., Souderton, 18969. The family will receive friends from 4-5:45 PM. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Harold’s name to Zwingli U.C.C. Music Program and mailed to the above address.
