Herman G. Hunsberger, 92, of Souderton, passed away Monday, June 25, 2018, at the Souderton Mennonite Homes. He was the husband of the late Kathryn (Brown) Hunsberger and the late Ruth (Mulholland) Hunsberger.

Born October 5, 1925, in Norristown, he was the son of the late William K. and Susie (Tyson) Hunsberger.

Herman was a life-long member of Lower Skippack Mennonite Church, where he served for many years as a trustee and on many other committees.

He served his country in the United States Navy during WWII where he was a mechanic on the air craft carrier the U.S.S. Kwajalein.

He worked many years in the service department of Sears Roebuck and Company retiring in 1990. While working at Sears, Herman met his first wife Kay and at the age of 50 got married.

Herman loved to travel and enjoyed history. His other interests included Bible Studies and gardening.

Throughout life’s difficulti­es, he had an amazing spirit. He truly was a special person and loved by all.

He is survived by Kay’s children, Kathy Benner, Jackie Bielski, and Pam Ziesler; Ruth’s children, Mary Ernst, Cheryl Cruise, and Evan Mulholland; his siblings, Donald G. Hunsberger and Evelyn Hunsberger; and many nieces, nephews, grandchild­ren, and great grandchild­ren. In addition to his wives, he was predecease­d by his siblings, Wilmer “Pete” Hunsberger, Hazel Lauman, Ethel Hunsberger, Claude Hunsberger, Laura Messick, Viola McCrork, Thelma Murphy, William “Willie” Hunsberger, and Arthur Hunsberger.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 4 PM on Friday, July 6, 2018 at the Souderton Mennonite Homes 207 W. Summit St. Souderton, PA 18964; where the family will greet friends from 3-4 PM.

In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons may be made in his memory to the Lower Skippack Mennonite Church Cemetery Fund.
