The Arc of Chester County recently received a $9,000 grant from Arthur Hall Insurance and Westfield Insurance Foundation to help individuals with disabilities and their families in Chester County and surrounding areas.

The grant is part of the Westfield Legacy of Caring program, which supports and invests in communities impacted by disaster, family stability or safety, and programs that invest in attracting and developing talent to in-

surance as a career.

Each year, Westfield independent insurance agents are invited to nominate a local nonprofit for the Legacy of Caring program. This year, the Westfield Insurance Foundation donated more than $500,000 to neighborhoods across the country. In the last four years, nearly $1.8 million has been distributed.

Arthur Hall Insurance is one of 88 agencies in 17

states donating to the program. The Arc of Chester County was one of 95 nonprofits across the country to receive the grant this year.

“At Arthur Hall Insurance, we believe in the shared responsibility to help strengthen the communities we call home,” Nicole C. Grebloskie, agency principal and vice president, personal lines said in a press release. “We are proud of our collaboration with Westfield and the collective impact to critically important initiatives, such as those provided by the Arc of Chester County, that are

essential to so many people.”

With the grant, The Arc of Chester County expects to be able to increase efforts to deliver critical services to individuals with disabilities through the agency’s Family Support Services program and Comprehensive Employment Services, according to Executive Director Jeanne Meikrantz.

“These funds directly translate to work placements, community inclusion and engagement, and social skills acquisition for those with disabilities.

It also helps combat caregiver burnout, as these services that are rendered in the community provide a break from caregiving for the families, thus providing an increase in stability for the family unit,” she said in the release.

“Our agents care and work hard to protect our customers, and the Legacy of Caring grant program helps build brighter futures in their own communities,” Ed Largent, Westfield president, CEO, board chair and Westfield Insurance Foundation chairman,” said in the release.
