Russell I. Hoffman of Telford
1926-2018
Russell I. Hoffman, 91 of Telford, died on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at the Lutheran Community at Telford. He was the husband of the late Gloria (Detweiler) Hoffman.
Born November 26, 1926 in Vernfield he was one of 14 children of the late William and Emma (Musselman) Hoffman.
He was a 1944 graduate of East Greenville High School.
Russell served in the United States Navy during World War II.
For 42 years he worked as an instrument maker at U.S. Gauge in Sellersville.
He was a member of Shiloh-MacCalla Lodge # 558 and was a 32 Degree Mason with Lehigh Consistory.
He was also a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Telford, where he was former church council president and a former superintendent of Sunday School.
He is survived by a son Brian Hoffman and his wife Doris of Salem, VA, four grandchildren, Ashley, Caleb, Andrew and Silas, eleven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Janice Newsome, and a son-in-law, Ralph Newsome.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, July 28, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 107 W. Lincoln Ave, Telford, PA 18969, where the family will receive friends from 10-10:45 AM.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Music Program at the above address.
